Now in its fourth year, the Go North Wales Tourism Awards proudly sponsored by Wales Cottages (part of the family), in partnership with Heart, will be taking place on Thursday, 14th November 2019 at Venue Cymru, Llandudno.

The purpose of the awards is to celebrate and recognise excellence in the region’s hospitality and tourism sectors.  The awards will showcase and celebrate the achievements, hard work and dedication of those working in the industry.

If you are involved in our region’s tourism industry then these awards are for you!

There are 15 categories and nominations are now open! You can nominate your business or a business which you think is a worthy winner. It’s really easy to nominate, just choose a category from the list below and click on the link to open the nomination form. You can nominate in as many categories as you like, but will need to submit a separate entry in each category.

Who can enter?

The Go North Wales Tourism Awards are open to all tourism businesses and individuals in North Wales.

Does it cost anything to enter?

No – for 2019 there is no charge to enter the awards.

Can I enter more than one category?

Yes you can, however separate application forms must be submitted for each.

Submitting application

All applications must be submitted electronically.

What we are looking for?

We encourage you to provide information that is relevant, valid and up-to-date.
Please don’t be tempted to overdo the amount of information you provide.

Criteria Scoring will be based on 7 elements
  1. Use of innovation – can be defined as the process of introducing new or significantly improved goods or services and/or implementing new or significantly improved processes plus impact the innovation has had on the business
  2. Engaging with the Local Community – looking at social benefits you provide to your local community and the benefits of this to your own business
  3. Sustainability – both environmental and business
  4. Achievements – awards, accolades, including grading
  5. Skills – Investment in staff training and development
  6. Social Inclusivity – taking into consideration visitors’ special and specific needs, remembering that this is more than ‘special needs’ or disabled facilities it is the act of making all groups of people within a society feel valued and important
  7. Overall Quality – to include reference to UGC sites reviews
All entries should be submitted using the online form.

The closing date for receipt of applications is Sunday, 29th September 2019.

After submission of application

Following receipt of applications the judges will access each application and a shortlist will be identified. Applicants will be advised whether or not they have been short-listed during week commencing  21st October 2019 via email. Winner agrees to use his/her name and photograph in future publicity.
Judge’s decision is final.


Only the organisers and elected judging panel will have access to your application form. However, you should be aware that the judges’ comments about your business application may be used as part of the script at the Awards Ceremony, if you become a finalist.

Winners Announced

There will be no advance notification of the winners as these will be announced at the Awards Ceremony on Thursday, 14th November 2019.

Go North Wales Tourism Awards 15th November at Venue Cymru, Llandudno

The Go North Wales Tourism Awards will be held at Venue Cymru, Llandudno on Thursday, 14th November 2019. There will be a gala dinner and award presentations followed by an evening of entertainment and dancing.

Dress code for the evening will be black tie. The celebrations start with a drinks reception, immediately followed by dinner. The awards will then be presented and the evening will finish with dancing.

Event tickets are available at a cost of £60 plus VAT per person or £550 plus VAT for a table to seat 10 guests.
